Working with the Raspberry Pi
This small, cheap computer will be the brains of the robot. We will turn it on and play with it.
Introduction to Electronics
We will build some simple electronic circuits using batteries, leds, resistors and switches.
Driving Circuits from a Raspberry Pi
We will connect the simple circuits we built to the Raspberry Pi and write some simple code to control the circuit.
Working with Hats
Raspberry Pi Hats are complete project boards that sit on the Raspberry Pi. We will take a look at a few of them to understand the scope of what can be achieved.
Programming input devices and sensors
We will look at the huge variety of sensors and input devices and build working mini-projects with them. This will include distance measurement, light sensors, temperature sensors, PIRs, contact sensors, cameras, keypads, etc.
Building your own project
Individually or in groups we will design and build a project such as a digital camera, alarm system, robot, etc. Students can use the workshop to cut and work wood, plastic, carboard or other materials.
